1945-2010 - David Rae Amos, 64, of Waterside and formerly of Richmond Hill, Ontario passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2010 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 25, 1945 the son of the late Marshall and Enid (Douglas) Amos. David was very fortunate to love what he did for a living; he was a contractor, building post and beam houses. He was very proud of the house he built as his home in Waterside. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many days on the golf course with his friends. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He was a beloved partner, father and grandfather whose memory will live on in their hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Sharon; son, Jason (Kerry) of Toronto, Ont.; treasured granddaughter, Madeleine; sister, Rosemary Hall of Bobcaygeon, Ont.; brothers, John (Nancy) of Montreal, Harton (Linda) of Connecticut, Charles (Anne) of Thunder Bay, Ont. and Chris (Jennifer) of Ottawa; special friends, Mary Ann and Peter Veira of Richmond Hill, Ont. He will also be missed by his dog, Karmyn.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother-in-law, Don Hall.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of David's life will be held at the West River United Church, West River on Friday, April 30th, 2010 at 2:00pm with Rev. Alex Mosher officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the church.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
