It is with great sadness that the family of the late Effie Mary Hatch announces her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Thursday April 23rd, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Born at Stones Cove, NL, Effie was the daughter of the late Parmeans and Alice Irene Pope. She was also predeceased by her husband, Allan Hatch and son, Gordon Hatch; sisters- in-law: Rhoda Pope and Laura Pope; brothers-in-law: Jordan Hatch and Nelson Miles. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Margaret (Roland) Pinsent, Stephenville NL, Pauline (Jack) Rowsell, Nanaimo BC, Donald (Beverly) Hatch, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Wade (Beth) Hatch, Fredericton, NB; grandchildren: Allan, Susan, Darlene, Kelly, David, Jason, Bill and Jeremy; great-grandchildren: Marie, Jean Luc, Kayla, Matthew, Ryan, Victorine and Kyle; brothers: Cyril Pope, Mount Pearl, Harold Pope, Sydney Mines, Donald (Caroline) Pope, Foxtrap, NL and Warren (Phyllis) Labrador City; sisters-in-law: Minnie Hatch, Maggie Miles and Nellie (Cecil) Elms, all of Port aux Basques; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Hatch, Halifax, NS, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Sunday, April 25th and Monday, April 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James’ Anglican Church, Channel, officiated by Rev. Mary Ann Boote. Interment followed at St. James’ Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Donations in Effie's memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques, 695-2300, www.easthaven funeralhome.com. Loved by family and many friends, will be missed by all.
