Roland Frederick Sheppard
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland Frederick Sheppard announces his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 85. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters; Barbara (David) Flynn of Halifax NS, Faye Sheppard (whom he resided) of Lark Harbour, Janice (Lee) Sheppard, son Brent (Sherry) Sheppard, daughter-in-law Donna Sheppard of Lark Harbour, nine grandchildren; Kim, Fred, Leanne, Ryan, Victor, Kristy, Lucas, Tyler and Nathan, nine great grandchildren, sisters; Marion Fiander of Nova Scotia, Ruby Wheeler of York Harbour, Loretta (Charlie) Green of St. John’s, brother Ivan (Marilyn) Sheppard, sister-in-law Dorothy Sheppard as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. He is pre deceased by his wife Elsie, sons; Roderick and baby Rodney, parents; Fred and Letta, sister Myrtle, brother Reg and brothers-in-law; Aubrey Fiander and Harold Wheeler. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour with Rev. Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road. No flowers by request. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of ones choice. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
