FAULKNER, Stanley Edson "Stan" - 79, Brookfield, passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 30, 2010, at Debert Court Home for Special Care, Debert. Born January 30, 1931, in Montreal, he was the only child of the late Stanley Sr. and Lelia (Ettinger) Faulkner. (Nœl, NS). He will be sadly missed by his sweetheart of over 50 years, wife, Eleanor (Hohne); son, Andy, Brentwood; daughter, Joanne (Dave) Hunt, Hammonds Plains; grandchildren Sally and Tom Faulkner of Truro; sister-in-law, Gisela Dabis and husband Diether, Toronto. Stan was a former 32-year employee of Shell Canada in Montreal East, where he worked in the refinery as a Fire and Safety Advisor. At 50, he retired with his family to Nova Scotia in 1981 and enjoyed many hobbies and years of travel, especially to his favourite locations of Barbados and Alaska. Stan was always fond of helping his neighbours with fix-it projects and was well known for his friendly waves to everyone from his John Deere ride-on mower. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, funeral service or flowers by Stan's request. A private family committal service will take place this spring at Nœl Cemetery. Donations in memory of Stan may be made to the Knox United Church, Brookfield, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
