1927 - 2010 - Everett Garland of Riverview passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital at the age of 82. Born in Havelock, he was the son of the late Oakley and Blanche (Keith) Garland. Everett served in the Canadian Army from 1954 to 1974 (served in Egypt from 1959 to 1960) and then was employed by Codiac Transit from 1974 to 1994. He is survived by his special friend, Leona Goguen, four sons; Stewart (Cathy) of Harcourt, ON, Stephen (Donna) of Argyle, MB, Bruce (Terry) of Caissie Cape, Ed (Monique) of Riverview, two daughters, Judy Nikkel (Al Smith) of Toronto and Gwen Goguen (Normand LeBlanc) of Memramcook. He will also be sadly missed by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one sister, Glendine (Don) McGaghey of Rothesay, one brother, Kenneth Gordon (Mary) Garland of Cobourg, ON and aunt Edrie Stephens. Besides his parents, Everett was predeceased by one sister, Ernestine Smith. Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, May 3, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A memorial service will take place at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:00 am followed by interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
