The passing of Gaynard Dennis Clendenning, husband of Ardith Clendenning, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on April 30, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 9, 1952 in Woodstock, NB, he was a son of Dennis Clendenning and the late Anna (Billings) Clendenning. Gaynard was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with the Department of Transportation for 32 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially looked forward to his families' annual gathering and corn boil that took place at his house. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his children, Tovey Spence Clendenning (Maureen) and Tatum Anna Clendenning (Silvano Cruz); grandchildren, Mila Cruz-Clendenning and Imogen Clendenning; siblings, Debbie Rideout (Wayne), Denice Anderson (David), Dalton Clendenning (Sherri) and Donald Clendenning (Irene); several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his sister, Joann Prior.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 1 pm. Pallbearers are Gaynard's nephews, Jason Rideout, Scott Anderson, Travis Prior, John Spence, Jason Derrah and Lance Clendenning. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Hartland, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
