The passing of Doreen Aleta Banks, wife of the late Stanley Jerome Banks, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on May 1, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 16, 1935 in Barkers Point, NB, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Jennie (Scott) Rickard. Doreen was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary, Marysville Branch. She was a past member of the Barkers Point Women's Institute; enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and crocheting. Doreen's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also looked forward to spending time with her friends from McKnight Street. Doreen is survived by three sons, Chris (Lynn), Rick (Jane) and Scott (Wendy) all of Fredericton; grandchildren, Kelsey (Cyril), Joe, Maggie, Erin, Brendan and Amber; daughter-in-law, Kelly Barr of Fredericton; brother, Wendall Rickard of Noonan.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Gibson Memorial United Church on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Boyd Vincent officiating. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery.
