Robert Edward Johnson, 62, Millbrook, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at home surrounded by family.
Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Sylliboy) Johnson.
He was a wonderful father and husband who loved life to the fullest. Robert was a business owner and throughout his life worked in construction and the fishery. He always loved to fish and hunt, play jokes and be with his grandchildren. He loved travelling and was a hard worker. He was an excellent hockey and ball player in his youth and loved the games with all his boys. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of 27 years; daughters, Sheila (Elvis) Tremblay, Mary Susan; sons, Robert (Robin) Jr., Mark (Misty), Peter (Mary), Stephen (Irena), Vincent, all from Millbrook; sisters, Jean (Ben) Martin, Florence (Jim) Walsh, Annie Goodwin (Jim), Dorothy; brothers, James (Pat) and Lloyd; 14 grandchildren; godchildren, Angela Bernard, Robert Gloade, Bobby Kabatay, Membertou, Juliette Googoo, Wagmatcook, Cynthia Wysote, Millbrook; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Bridget and Lena, brother, Stanley and twin sister at birth.
Visitation will be at his home at 984 Willow St., Millbrook, beginning at 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, with the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5 in Sacred Heart Church, Millbrook. A gathering will take place following the service in the community hall.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
