It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Edgar announces his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, May 3rd, 2010 at the age of 66. Born on October 11th, 1943, he was the son of the late Norval and Gwen Edgar. Richard will be sadly missed by his wife, Mavis. He was a loving father to his son, Timothy Edgar of Winnipeg and daughter, Tammy Seeley of Haneytown; He was a cherished grandfather to Matthew and Dylan Seeley and Christopher Edgar-Stevens; He also leaves to mourn his brother, Karl Edgar of Fort Saskatchewan; sister, Susan Prior of Robinson, ME and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Dale. Richard grew up in Florenceville, NB. He and his family settled in Haneytown in 1969. He was an iron worker by trade and belonged to the Iron Workers Union # 842. Richard enjoyed having morning coffee with the boys and driving around in the wrecker with Herb Colbourne. He always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebage St. on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 from 6:30 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 6th at 2 pm with Rev. Bob McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens.
