Sharpe, Laurie Albert - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie of Great Village and formerly of Hilden, after a short illness. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Blanche (Hines) Sharpe. Laurie has resided in Great Village for the past 33 years where he lived with his brother Tom and sister-in-law Kay and along with his brother Charles. Laurie was a joy to know and love and always was smiling and happy. He was a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by brothers, Tom (Kay) and Charles, both of Great Village, Bill (Annette), Suthernslake, Cumb. Co, Bradley (Mae), Sunrise trail, Pictou Co; half-sister Shirley Philips, Chase, BC; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Lillian and husband Roger Lavinge, Bathurst, NB, Jean and husband Leslie Steves, St. Joseph's, Antigonish Co, Stella Mae in infancy; brother Robert.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday May 5th, from 3:30 until funeral service time at 4:30, in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Dan Gunn will officiate with burial to follow in the Brookfield Westside Cemetery, Brookfield. Family flowers only. Donations in Laurie's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Colchester Community Work Shop.
