Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on April 21, 2010, Dominic (Don) Brake of Marystown at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by his wife, Bridget, his parents, Daniel and Mary, his brothers John, Dermot, and Patrick, and his grandson, Alexander. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his children: Dominic Jr. of Edmonton, Deborah Brake-Brushett (Bill) of Oakville, Delores Brake (Mike) of Toronto, and DeAnne Hawkes (Richard) of Newport, North Carolina; his sisters: Theresa Ward and Edith Hodder; his grandchildren: Stephen, Cameron and Cailin Brushett; many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral mass took place at Sacred Heart Parish in Marystown on Saturday, April 24, 2010. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
