1931-2010 - HARCOURT, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother; Marjorie Elizabeth Agnew (née Getty) 78, of Harcourt. Marjorie passed away peacefully at the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont Regional Hospital on Friday, May 7th, 2010. Born in Bathurst, she was the only child of the late Gordon and Agnes (Dickie) Getty. Marjorie loved to play cards, go biking, cross country and downhill skiing, snowshœing, clogging and traveling. She simply love the great outdoors, it was her favourite place to be. She had an infectious smile and a contagious laugh. She enjoyed her Sunday afternoon drives with her daughter Sally to Tim Horton's. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her daughter; Sally Allen (Rick) of Harcourt, her four sons; Vern Beers (Louise) of Woodstock, Stephen Beers of Rexton, Greg Beers (Maggie Mazerolle) of Rexton, Randy Beers (Eliette LeBreton) of Rexton, her nine grandchildren; Heidi, Kevin, Aaron, Andrew, Marjorie, David, Jenn, Jeremy, and Chanel.
Other than by her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Agnew (1995), and her first husband Mendle Beers (1987). Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 9th, 2010 at 2:00PM, at the Harcourt Presbyterian Church, Harcourt, with Reverend Cecil Symes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Harcourt Presbyterian Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
