
Wilbur Wesley Cromwell
NEW GLASGOW/HALIFAX - Wilbur Wesley Cromwell, age 83 of Upper Hammonds Plains, passed away peacefully at home, May 2, 2010.
Born in Danvers, Weymouth, N.S., he was the son of the late William and Ida (Wesley) Cromwell.
Wilbur was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and choir. He was employed with several construction companies:?Warren Paving, Marlite Construction, Lafarge Canada and Standard Paving. He enjoyed working with his hands doing carpentry and working in his garage. He also enjoyed music and playing his guitar which provided him and others with great joy.
He is survived by sons, Robert (Heather) Cromwell, New Glasgow; Thomas (Yvonne) Desmond, Halifax; Walter (Mary) Desmond, Toronto; Neil (Brenda) Underwood, Montreal; Gerald Desmond, Dartmouth; daughters,?Jean (Al) Desmond, Truro; Lillian Desmond, Toronto; sisters, Grace (Glidden) Cromwell, Jean Cromwell, all of Weymouth; brother, Clifford Cromwell, Weymouth; many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus several great-great-grandchildren; as well as cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Teresa Cromwell.
Visitation was held in Emmanuel Baptist Church, from where his funeral service was held Wednesday with Rev. Dr. Lennett J. Anderson Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
