The death of Peter Thomas Sheehan of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, NS on Thursday, May 6, 2010. Born on December 29, 1954 in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Inglis) Sheehan and the husband of Dianne (McMillan) Sheehan. Peter graduated from Acadia University with his BBA in 1977 and continued his studies, becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1979. He was the CFO of Plaza Corp, specializing in the financial aspect of commercial property development and management. His career has led him to work in Halifax, Toronto and Fredericton. His co-workers described him as a quiet leader who treated others with respect. In his spare time Peter enjoyed family times at the cottage in NS. He was an avid golfer and RCGA Rules Official. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 28 years, Dianne and a loving Dad to his daughters, Kelsey (Fredericton), Katie (Calgary) and Lindsay (Fredericton). He is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Barb) Sheehan of Halifax, NS and John (Jeanne) Sheehan of Cranbrook, BC; one sister, Marg (Erv) Blakeney of Kentville, NS; brothers-in-law, Robert (Alice) McMillan of New Glasgow, NS, and Doug (Veronica) McMillan of Truro, NS. Peter was predeceased by his only son, Nick in 2009.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 12th, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Mark Trzop as Celebrant.
