Passed peacefully away at home on May 6, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Predeceased by his father and mother (Harvey and Ida), sister Olive (Wilf), brothers Harold, Doug and Hubert. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 50 years Shirley (nee Barnes) and children Gail (Max), Heather (Ed), Jeff (Cheryl) and Jennifer. He also leaves four darling grandchildren Hillary, Megan, Erin and Jacob. Also leaving brother Jimmy (Madeline) and sisters-in-law Joyce and Lyda Critch, Ruby (Con) Slaney, Mildred Carter, Valda Boland and brother-in-law Hector Barnes. Also a large circle of relatives, friends and special friends Wayne and Marie Morris. Visitation to take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Thursday, May 7th from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, May 8th from 2-8 pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday May 9th at 2 p.m. from Cochrane Street United Church, St. John’s. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request.
