It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather, companion, brother and uncle, David Jœard Young, 47, a resident of Pleasant Street, North Sydney, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, surrounded by his loving family, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, he was a son of the late Louis and Alice (McCarthy) Young of Florence. His passion in life was fishing and spending his time outdoors. He also enjoyed baseball and taking his grandson shopping.
David is survived by his adoring daughter, Nicole (Jessica); his grandson, Dalton; two sons, David and Stephen (Teshanna); by his best friend, Roger Allain and the ongoing love of his life, Denise Connolly. Also by his many loving siblings, Patsy Kendall, Florence, Billy (Cathy) Young, Ontario, Marjorie (Maurice) Capstick, Elizabeth (Elmer) Capstick, Barbara (John) Donovan, all of Florence, Betty (Reuben) Daly, Lake Ainslie, Holly (Dave) Williams, North Sydney, Susie Musgrave, Westmount, Dolly (Chess) Miles, Sydney Mines, Paula (Gary) Milines, New Glasgow, Sugar Muise, Sydney Mines, Brian (Melinda) Young, Florence.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, John Joseph Young and two sisters, Judy Renz and Rose Mary Young.
No visitation by request. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d'Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating. Burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
