Pictou - Julia Patricia MacDonald, 97, Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou passed away on May 15, 2010 in the home. Born in River John, she was a daughter of the late Albro & Gertrude (Salter) Colter. She loved to read, listen to music, play auction 45's and spending time at her summer home in Waterside. She is survived by sons, John, Dwight (Debbie) and Laurie (Ellen) all of Pictou; daughters, Ann (John) Jendruszka, Calgary; Edith (Jack) Hiscock, New Glasgow; Lynn (Jim) Armstrong, Calgary; Helen (Ned) MacBeath, Moncton; Susan, Pictou; Janice (Gerry) Spencer, Calgary; Allyson MacDonald (Paul Logan), Pictou; Marion MacDonald (Greg MacDonald), Pictou; Maureen MacDonald (Nelson Barnhart), Whitehorse; Heather (Cam) Perry, Coaldale; 29 grandchildren; 25 great grand children. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Murray; sons Brian 'Shack', Dale, Albro; daughter Nancy Corbin; two brothers and six sisters.
Her remains will rest at the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, where visitation will take place from 7 to 9 PM on Monday. A private family service will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
