Blake D. Finnie of Magaguadavic, NB passed away May 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Blake was born in Magaguadavic on October 17, 1930, a son of the late Gordon and Elsie (Henry) Finnie. He was a veteran of the Korean War and then served for 28 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Blake was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, McAdam Branch 7. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roberta E. (Ward) Finnie, his children, Bonny Amos (Gary), Moncton, NB and Glen Finnie, Geary, NB; four grandsons, Aaron Amos (Carla), Jonathan Amos, Jeremy Finnie and Cory Finnie; two great granddaughters; two brothers, Carvel Finnie (Patsy), Magaguadavic, NB and Douglas Finnie, Woodstock, NB; two sisters, Irma Hickey (Gordon), Fredericton, NB and Connie Bell, Lake George, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Blake was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene, a sister, Phyllis Fraser and five brothers, Vernon, Howard, Cecil, Otis and infant Glenwood.
Visitation will be held at the Harvey United Pentecostal Church, 2031 Highway 3, Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Todd McGuire and Rev. Mel Calhoun officiating.
