Jocelyn Ann Steeves of Charlo, and formerly of Saint John, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at her residence. Born at Saint John on December 31, 1959, she was a daughter of Geraldine (Doucet) Steeves and the late Donald Steeves. Jocelyn worked in the hospitality business in Saint John before she moved to Charlo. She enjoyed dancing and country music, and loved to cook. In addition to her mother of Saint John, Jocelyn is survived by her fiancé, James Montplaisir of Charlo; a son, Daryl Northrup (Cassidy) of Wembley, AB; a daughter, Amanda Northrup of Oxford Mills, ON; grandchildren Madison and Makayla; her siblings, Donnie Steeves (Darlene) of Corner Brook, NL, Olive Steeves-Babineau (John Allan), Cathy Wilson (Brian), Theresa Rogers (Robert), Mark Steeves (Cathy), all of Saint John, and Sherry Lawless (Scott Nesbitt) of Quispamsis; and nieces and nephews Renée, Samantha, Chelsea, Samantha, Caitlind, Joshua, Sarabeth, Thomas, Anna, Jordan, and Jennica.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM from St. Peter's Church, 50 Clarendon Street. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
