SISSON – Kathleen Mary
February 15, 1920 – May 7, 2009
It is with much love and great memories that the family of Kathleen Mary Sisson announces her passing at the age of 89 years. How privileged we were to have her as our Mom and Best Friend. We will miss her so much. Kathleen was born in Lowestoff, England on February l5, 1920. She came to Canada with her family in 1924 and settled in Kenogami, Quebec. She married Em Sisson in 1943 and they resided and raised their family in Moose Jaw. Sask. where Kathleen was a Dental Nurse and Receptionist for 28 years. In 1986 they retired to New Westminster, B.C. and then to Calgary, Alberta.
She was a very special Lady who touched so many with her beautiful heart and love of life. She will forever be in the hearts of her family; daughter, Dorothy and Jim Johnston, Calgary, AB; son, Peter and Anne Sisson, Lacombe, AB; cherished grandchildren; Tara Spicer, Jason and Lena Spicer, Kristofur Sisson, Robert Sisson, Leah Sisson and Arjan Steeneveld; and great grandchildren, Dylan Spicer and Daylen Meszaros.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Bell of Toronto and her brother, Donald Walker of Moncton. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Em and her parents, Peter and Edith Walker. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her in her final weeks at the Rockyview Hospital. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Drive, S.W. on Monday, May 11, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Tom Baker Cancer Clinic, 1331 – 29 Street NW., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2. Graveside service will take place at Burnt Lake Cemetery at a later date.
