The passing of Evelyn J. McLaughlin, wife of the late Omar McLaughlin, formerly of 110 McKnight Street, Fredericton, NB, occurred on May 18, 2010 at Barrie's Special Care Home, Nasonworth, NB. Born on February 5, 1927 in Debec, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Louise (Carr) Hanson. Evelyn was affiliated with the Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church. She was a retired Stenographer and Secretary with the City of Fredericton in the Planning Department. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Wilma Folsom of Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William Arlington Hanson "Arlie" and sister, Catherine Stairs. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. John Symonds officiating. Interment will take place at Dayton Cemetery, Fredericton, NB.
