HAZEL LUCILLE GREENSIDES (Nee: Erickson)
(September 30, 1911 – May 7, 2009)
Hazel passed away at Pioneer Lodge at the age of 97 years. Left to mourn are her son Elwood (Leona) – Moose Jaw; two grandchildren: Tammy (Rob) Herbert and Bill (Diane) Greensides – Regina and Bill and Tammy’s mother Gay Merritt; five great-grandchildren: Kyle and Mackenzie Herbert, Jessie, Riley and Drake Greensides – Regina; two sisters: Joyce (Gordon) Brooks – Moose Jaw and Lorraine (Evart) Ball – Alberta, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Clarance and Lillian Erickson, her husband Ken Greensides who passed away on April 27, 1980; five brothers and three sisters. Ken and Hazel farmed in Readlyn, Saskatchewan for ten years. They then farmed at Harrowby, Manitoba for five years. They moved back to Saskatchewan in 1957. Hazel worked in several places in Moose Jaw including the Army and Navy Department Store. Ken and Hazel liked to travel. She lived in Temple Towers for twenty-five years. Hazel enjoyed Bingo, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held in the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor John McCubbing will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pioneer Lodge, 1000 Albert Street, Moose Jaw, S6H 2Y2.
