Passed peacefully away at his daughter's residence at St. John's on May 7, 2009, Elden Kean, age 85 years of Pound Cove. Predeceased by his parents John and Louisa Kean; brothers: Cluney and Samuel Kean; sister Dorothy Perry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 61 years Jane Kean of Pound Cove; four sons: Lloyd (Wendy) of St. John's, Charlie (Cathy) of Pound Cove, Hubert (Susie) of Wesleyville, Lucky (Grace) of Pound Cove; three daughters: Evelyn (Soon Wong) of St. John's, Peggy (Jim Stratton) of Valleyfield, Joanne (Elotus Sturge) of Valleyfield; brothers: Russell (Marina) of Pound Cove, Oliver Kean of Pound Cove; sister Nellie (Glenn Hann) of Templeman; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 4 p.m. from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Pound Cove with Rev. Shaun O'Connor officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Pound Cove. Donations in his memory may be made to a Charity of one's Choice.
