Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on May 7, 2009, Therese Thorne, in her 79th year (September 8, 1929). Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John Frederick Thorne, her parents Vincent and Rose (nee Gardiner) Leonard; daughter Mary; sons: Bobby and Eddie and brother Tom Leonard. Leaving to mourn Sharon (Ken), Freddie (Brenda), Ricky, Rose Anne (Bob), Lennie (Clara), Viki (Tony), Sean (Heidi), Michelle, Greg, Ronnie; sister-in-law Jean Leonard; brothers-in-law: Gus, Bob and Leo Thorne; grandchildren: Jennifer, Miki, Michelle, TJ, Jason, Bobby, Nicole, Danny, Kristen, Sean (Little), Christopher, Meghan, Freddie, Charles, Maddy, Katherine, Sean Michael; great-grandchildren: Talia, Kristofer and Parker; her nieces and nephews of the Leonard family along with a large circle of her “extended” family and friends. For those who knew our mother, you could attest to her devotion of the english language with its varied avenues. Camping, irish music, live concerts and playing the ivory keys of her much loved piano brought her and others great joy. A love of her pets as well as for the many “temporary boarders” lugged home by her children knew no boundaries. Like a true patriot, close to her heart was her Newfoundland and the pink, the white and the green. There was so much more...Mother, you are greatly missed but will continue to live in our hearts. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church. Interment to follow at Belvedere Cemetery.
