We regret to announce the sudden passing of Aubrey Blaine MacDonald which occurred at the Grandriver Hospital, Kitchener, Ont. on Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Wilma (MacInnis) MacDonald. Prior to his moving to Ontario, Blaine lived in Glace Bay and was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church.
In his younger years, Blaine worked in the coal mines and did carpentry work. Blaine had a great passion for cars, he raced at the local speedway. His greatest ability was his knowledge of cars, he was able to repair any automotive problem.
Surviving are son, Aaron (Tara); grandchildren, Emma, Jesalynn, Sydney; daughter, Candace Strong, Glace Bay; sisters, Sherry (Bernie Hart), Glace Bay, Wanda (Graham Prokopetz), Alberta, Shirley (Steve Kuzell), Kitchener, Ont.; Sonya (Vince Miller), Sydney, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Blaine was predeceased by his parents in 2002; infant brother, Aubrey Glen, 1962; brother, Derek Neil, 1990; grandparents, Neil and Clarice MacDonald, Norman and Sadie MacInnis
In honouring Blaine's wishes, there will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Blaine's life will be held at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The date and time of this service will be announced at a later date.
