The passing of Phyllis Ann Basque formerly of Doaktown, NB, wife of the late Leander Basque, occurred on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 25, 1943 in Weaver Siding, NB, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Carmel (Colford) Veno. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Lisa Basque (Nabin) of Vancouver, BC and Roxanne Basque (Robert) of Nasonworth, NB; son, Laurie Basque (Pam) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Ryan, Nelson, Nathan and Victoria; sisters, Effie Colford (Perley) of Doaktown, NB and Essie Peterson of Leduc, AB; brothers, Fred Veno (Blondine) and Leo "Deed" Veno (Mary) all of Doaktown, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place in Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of The Annunciation Church, Doaktown, NB on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11am with Father Jacques R. Landry as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
