The passing of Elma Bertha Reddick of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Sidney Reddick, occurred on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 28, 1925 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Estella (Hudlin) Howe. Elma was a member of the First Wesleyan Church and a former member of the Bereans First Wesleyan Church. She loved gardening and was born with a green thumb. She enjoyed early Saturday mornings, loved having a house full of people for a large meal, yard sales and travelling with her "Golden Girls" and special son-in-law. Elma was a great cook that opened her home to everyone. Elma enjoyed her special relationship with Tye, her only grandchild, who was the apple of her eye. Elma will be remembered as a woman of faith and a strong prayer warrior. Elma is survived by her daughter, Janet Reddick- Burke (Barry) of Fredericton; grandson, Tye Burke; sister, June Carty of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Ron Howe (Rita) of Trenton, ON, Eldon Howe (Kaye) of Fredericton, NB and Carl Howe (Doreen) of Barrie, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Elma was predeceased by her sisters, Marguarite Jones and Opal Ward; brothers, Royden and Watson Howe.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at First Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Karl Ingersoll officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
