It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. Dorothy Marie Blinkhorn, 41, North Sydney, passed away at home on Monday, May 24, 2010.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of Marion (Nelson) Gerrow and the late Richard 'Dicky' Gerrow.
Besides her mother, Marion Gerrow, she is survived by her children, Coressa, Corey and Shelley and her pets. Also surviving are her sisters, Elizabeth Gerrow, Christine (Sandy) Pero and Arlene (Walter) Hoeg; her brothers, Jimmy Gerrow and Norman (Michelle) Gerrow; several nieces and nephews and her good friend, Lawson States.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Sheldon Arthur Blinkhorn, her father, Richard 'Dicky' Gerrow and her good friend, Louise Morgan.
Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, taking pictures and the computer. She had a passion for animals.
Visitation today (Wednesday), 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The funeral service will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
