It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Blinkhorn at home on May 9, 2009.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late James and Sadie (Confiant) Blinkhorn, Sydney Mines. She was employed as manager of Ruby Mason’s Boutique and later as secretary at Dalhousie University.
She is survived by her son, Michael Matthews (Melissa), Sydney Mines; her siblings, Theresa McCready (Frank), Sydney Mines, Jim (Cheryl) Blinkhorn, Dundas, Ont., Brian Blinkhorn (Connie), Orillia, Ont. and Marion Clare, Orillia; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and ‘Baby Face’ Pat.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine and Jacqueline, her brothers, Adrian and Francis Xavier, her niece, Denise and nephew, Dwayne.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Hughie MacNeil officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
