The death of Hugh Raymond Cunningham, loving husband of Janet (Saunders/Boyle) Cunningham of Gondola Point, occurred at his residence on Thursday, May 27, 2010. Born 1916 in Saint John he was the son of the late William and Viola (Harley) Cunningham. Hugh was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Elaine (Brewer) Cunningham; siblings William Cunningham, Floral Bell Parfitt, Viola Raynes, Theodore Cunningham, Clarence Cunningham, Roy Cunningham, Dorothy Burton and Joan McGoldrick. Hugh was an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the Saint John Naturalist Club, Kings County Historical Society and the Masonic Lodge No. 2. He worked as a Longshoremen/Checker for the ILA Local 273, retiring in 1981. In addition to his loving wife Janet of 20 years, he is survived by his stepchildren Kelly (Boyle) McDonough (Kevin), Eric Boyle (Linda), Andrew Boyle (Paula) and Thomas Boyle all of the Kennebecasis Valley; grandchildren Connor and Kathleen McDonough; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Following cremation, visitations will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 5 Quispamsis Road, Gondola Point on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Luke's Anglican Church on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery.
