The passing of Tressa Irene Merrill of Cross Creek, NB, wife of the late David Merrill occurred on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 25, 1924 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Beatrice (Scott) Palmer. She was a member of Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB. Tressa was a pastry chef at Rocky Brook Camp. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing and knitting.
Tressa is survived by her daughters, Linda MacNally of Victoria, BC, Beatrice Merrill (Brian) of Maple Grove, NB and Susan Merrill of Green Hill, NB; sons, Warren Merrill (Geraldine) of Stanley, NB, Brent Merrill (Charlotte) of Maugerville, NB and Roland Merrill (Pamela) of Dartmouth, NS; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Astle of Astle, NB, Thelma Les Aux (Gordon) of BC, Priscilla Walsh of ON and Eileen Wamboldt (Russell) of NS; brothers, Leonard Palmer (Maxine) of Gagetown, NB and Merlin Palmer (Leslie) of Parkers Ridge, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Tressa was predeceased by her grandson, Jason Hurley; sisters, Mary Carson and Louise Grant; brother, Everett Palmer. Visitation will take place at Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 1 to 3 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 3 pm from the church with Wally Ellis (DLM) officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hillcrest United Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
