The death of Doreen Selina Jones of Saint John, wife of the late Glendon Jones, occurred on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 6, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Grace (Bustard) Hayes. Doreen was employed with the Saint John School Board, she was a teacher for many years working at various schools, Otter Lake, Loch Lomond, Lakewood Heights and East Saint John before retiring. Doreen is survived by her children, Frederick Jones (Stephanie) of NB, Alice Burgess (Guy) of Barnesville, NB and Gwendolyn Green (John) of Ottawa; brothers, Walter Hayes (Joan) of Saint John, Roland Hayes (Dede) of Quispamsis; sisters, Eileen Young of Saint John and Phyllis McKenzie (Ralph) of Campbellton, NB; grandchildren, Alicia Hutchings (Derrick), Dieter Burgess, Frederick Jones, Abaigeal, Sophie and Olivia Green; one great-granddaughter, Cadence Hutchings.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the First Wesleyan Church, Boars Head Road at 10:00 AM. Interment to take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
