The death of Albert "Ab" Leon Harrison, husband of Carol (Grant) Harrison occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, May 29th, 2010. Born in Plaster Rock, NB, he was the son of the Arthur Benjamin and Vivian Pearl (Murray) Harrison. Ab is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol; one son Timothy of Toronto; one daughter Lori Harrison (Ronnie Arsenault) and Lori's special friend Joe Poirier and Ab's special companion Tinker; his mother-in-law, Marie (McAllister-Grant) and her husband William (Bill) Porter; his siblings, Norman Harrison, Mavis (Jim Smith), Margaret Broome (Junior) all of Plaster Rock, NB, and Shirley Linton (Jim) of San Diego, California; special cousin Milford Howe (Marjorie); his favorite uncle, Howard Grant and many other nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his father-in-law, Gerald Grant. Albert "Ab" worked for many years in general local trucking in the Fredericton Area. His favorite passion was horseracing and he enjoyed the companionship with his friends at the Fredericton Raceway, and playing cards. He also enjoyed bingo, scratch tickets and being a Toronto Maple Leafs Fan. He loved spending time with his family, children and enjoyed having company.
The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Fr. Gerry White as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Hermitage Cemetery.
