(December 15, 1934-May 28, 2010) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Houlihan of Witless Bay on May 28, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit, LAMC, aged 75 years. Predeceased by her mother Bridget, father John, and her brother John. Left with fond and loving memories, her husband of 54 years Edmund, seven children: Sean (Maxine), Colleen, Keith (Joan Marie), Kelly, Edwina (Lindsay), Don, and Dean (Rosemary). Twelve grandchildren: Renee (Grant), Sarah Tuff (Michael), Matthew, Mark, Megan, Emily, Mollie, Maggie, Scout, Kathleen, Brendan, Ronan and four great-grandchildren:, Rory, Regan, Riley and Liam; sister Marie Halleran. Sisters-in-law Margaret Power, Kathleen Pitcher, Mary Connors, Monica Capps. Brothers-in-law Gerald, James and William. Special friends, Marie Cahill, Geneveive and Bill Dunphy. Along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Sunday, May 30 and Monday May 31 from 2 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial from St. Patrick's RC Church, Witless Bay, on Tuesday June 1, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross RC Cemetery, Witless Bay Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Patrick's RC Church restoration fund.
