WAUGH, Gary George – 64, East Wallace, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2009, as the result of a heart condition. Born February 26, 1945, in Truro, he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Baxter) Waugh. A carpenter by trade, Gary’s passion was woodworking and restoration work. Many fine examples of Gary’s talent are visible throughout Truro with the most recent being the front doors at First Baptist Church. Gary led a full life and enjoyed nature and the solitude at his home in East Wallace. Gary is survived by his sister, Charlotte Cooling, Truro; brother-in-law, Al Zubick; nephews, Peter, Brian, Steve and Gary Zubick, all of British Columbia; Gerry Cooling, Surrey, British Columbia; niece, Margaret (Cooling) Higgins, Edmonton, Alberta; several cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Zubick. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held from 4-7 pm Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, corner of Brunswick and Exhibition Streets, Truro. All are invited to attend. Interment will be held at a later date in Wallace Cemetery. No flowers by request of the family. If so desired, donations in Gary’s memory to the Colchester Historical Society Museum or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
