John Richard "Ricky" Royles, age 50 Pictou Landing, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 29th, 2010, as the result of a tragic boating accident.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Dorothy (MacDonald) Royles, Little Harbour and the late Blaine Royles.
Ricky was a proud resident of Pictou Landing for the past 10 years, loved fishing, being in the outdoors and helping his neighbors.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Royles, Little Harbour; partner, Caroline Martin, Pictou Landing; sister, Arlene (David) MacRae, Lyons Brook; brother, Robert "Bobby" Royles, Brampton, Ontario; half-brother Allen Royles, Pictou; half-sister, Sheila Royles, New Glasgow; maternal grandmother, Margaret "Daisy" MacDonald, Alma; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His remains will rest in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Pictou Landing First Nation from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Cremation will follow.
Donations may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
