It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Gordon Dalziel on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Toronto, Ont., he was the son of the late Gordon Nolan and Mae (O’Neill) Dalziel.
He was employed by Gestetner Canada Ltd. and later with Woodhouse Furniture, Glace Bay.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anne (O’Neill) Dalziel; sons, Gordon (Lynn), Kelowna, B.C., Thomas (Pamela), Lantz, N.S., Frank (Heather), Red Deer, Alta., Paul (Brenda), Gardiner Road, Sydney, He is also survived by two sisters, Jane Sullivan, Mississauga, Ont., Alix Lipskie, Barrie, Ont.; seven grandchildren, Brendan, Jeffrey, Jared, Ashley, Robert, Ciara and Matthew; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, May 14 at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
Reception to follow at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral home. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Theresa’s Memorial Fund, Palliative Care, CBRH, or charity of choice.
