Lillian Geraldine (Jerry) (Hare) MacCoul, 72, Bible Hill passed away May 12, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late William and Georgina Hare, Truro.
Jerry lived in Bible Hill for 51 years and was a well known member of her community. Known for her many volunteer activities, she also had the honour of providing the ceremonial cake for the opening of the Scotia Pool which was attended by Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau. As a 25-year member and past president of the Truro Farmer’s Market, she provided support for the community (as well as exceptional baking). As a mother and grandmother, Jerry always led by example. She was a loving, generous and compassionate person who will be very sadly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her, most especially her longtime friend Barb Gaudrault and her loving and devoted family.
She is survived by her children Edith (Kit) MacCoul, Greg (Dee) MacCoul, David (Sandra) MacCoul, Irene (Edward) Bebe, Danny (JoAnn) MacCoul, Barry MacCoul, Dana MacCoul; siblings Patrick Hare, Cheryl Parnell, Carl Hare, Susan Hines; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband Austin Cyril MacCoul.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14 from 7 to 9 p.m.; memorial service on Friday, May 15 at 3 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
