HUNT – DeeDee Marie Diane (nee Ross)
March 21, 1946 – May 5, 2009
It is with great sadness that the family of DeeDee announce her sudden passing on May 5, 2009 in Prince Albert, at the age of 63. DeeDee was a caring, thoughtful and genuine person. She had a big heart and made friends easily. With her positive attitude and love of life, she touched the lives and hearts of so many people. DeeDee had a special way of making people feel loved and important, and always found the time to give to others, as this was one of her greatest joys. She would combine her joy of giving with her joy of cooking, for she was a marvelous cook – whipping up delicious meals for friends and loved ones in their time of need, to mark special occasions, or simply as a reason to gather around the table with those who meant so much to her. DeeDee was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured spending time with her family and her grandchildren. DeeDee was also a great friend to many. Keeping in touch with friends and family was important to her, and it was with sincere pleasure that she did so daily, whether by phone, cards or Facebook. DeeDee had a strong faith. This close relationship with God helped her through life’s difficult moments, and gave her the strength to support others through theirs. To many, DeeDee was an angel here on earth, and those that she leaves behind can take comfort knowing that she is now an angel in Heaven. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 41 years, Albert; daughter Michelle (Colin) and grandchildren Emilie, Ava and Joel; daughter Jodi (Darren); and her father Emerald. She is also survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Waiting in heaven for her is her brother Ian and sister Bonnie. A celebration of DeeDee’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Val Bodnaryk officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
