Marguerite Bordage, 85, of Villa Héritage and formerly of Spruce Street, Moncton, passed away on Monday June 7, 2010 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital. Born on March 19, 1925 in Acadieville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Placide and Emma (Maillet) Henri.
Before her retirement, Marguerite was a bookkeeper for Carpetland. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Knights of Columbus, former secretary of the Mouvement des Femmes chrétiennes as well as former secretary and treasurer of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Golden Age Club. She is survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, Doris Bordage; four daughters: Aline Gallant (Clement) of Melrose, Eva Bordage of Moncton, Yolande Boucher (Paul) of Grande-Digue and Jacqueline Matthews (Rick) of Caissie Cape; four sons: Léo, Laurent (Yvonne) and Ronald, all of Moncton and Léon (Susan) of Cambridge, ON; one daughter-in-law: Annette Bordage of Caissie Cape; two sisters: Edna Vautour (Amédée) of Saint-Louis and Rita Bordage (Louis) of Acadieville; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by two sons: Auguste (2003) and Joseph (1950); one daughter-in-law, Gail; two sisters, Marie and Lorraine, as well as four brothers: Alyre, Edouard, Elie and Laurie.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church (Parkton) on Thursday June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
