John C. Sexton, 73, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, June 7, 2010. Born in Borden, PE, he was the son of the late John and Ada (Walsh) Sexton. John was retired from Ford Motor Credit, Moncton and attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1310 and was an avid Moncton Wildcats fan and an active member of the Wildcats Booster Club. John was a long time sports enthusiast and a former coach with Moncton Minor Baseball. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed working in his garden, was a candy lover (especially chocolate). John enjoyed playing cards and volunteer work for the Knights of Columbus, socializing with his friends and spending precious time with his family. John will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Andrea (Saulnier); daughters, Kim Hicks (Brian), Moncton, Karen Matthews (Greg), Dieppe, Kelly Thibodeau (Normand), Moncton; sons, Kenny (Darlene), Salisbury, Kirby (Natalie), Nanaimo, BC, Kendall (Nadine), Moncton; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Mary Connolly (Reg), Kinkora, PE; brother, Baden (Dorothy), Doaktown; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass, St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Thursday, June 10, 2010, 9:30 am, Rev. Allison Carroll officiating. Reception in the Parish Hall following the Mass. Interment, Seven Mile Bay, PE.
