MacKay, Cleopie (Cleo) Teresa (Vallas)- 90, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent's Guest Home, Halifax on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009. Born in Dominion, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Vallas. She was predeceased by her husband Don (1964). After raising her 7 children on her own she gave the next decade to caring for numerous priests at Mount Carmel Rectory. She is survived by her children, Donna Christie (Ross) with whom she lived for 20 years in Bedford, Ron (Marg) of Moncton, NB, Frank (Diane) of Innisfail, AB, Greg (Madonna) of Bedford, NS, Donnie (Sharon) of Scotchtown, NS, Gerard (Jay) (Janet) of Carstairs, AB, Fred (Paul) of Toronto, ON. She is also survived by her sisters Kay Chisholm (New Waterford), Sister Angelina Vallas, CND (Sydney), Irene MacPherson (New Waterford), Sister Francis Vallas, CND (Sydney). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Sean (Tracy), Steven (Sarah), Sheri, Nathan, Matthew, Melissa, Stephanie, Lori, Steven, Jason (Kim), Debra, Jared (Tanis), Josh, Jessica, Cody, Joshua and great grandchildren: Georgia, Ruthie, Liah, Heather and Julia. She is predeceased brother, Mike, sisters, Marie Coleman, Pauline Wade, Uwana Vallas. The service of celebration to honour her life will be held at St. Leonard's (Mount Carmel), New Waterford, on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2pm. Inurnment at Mount Carmel cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent's Guest Home (2080 Windsor St, Halifax, NS B3K 5B2) or the charity of your choice.
