Surrounded by his loving family and after a falling period of health, the death of Ray Greenlaw of Rothesay, NB, husband of Loretta (Jones) Greenlaw, occurred Saturday, June 12th, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Andrews, NB, he was the son of the late Earle and Velma (Maloch) Greenlaw. Ray was a faithful member of the Rothesay Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved the outdoors and had many fond memories of his time spent fishing, boating, golfing, traveling and motorhoming with family and friends. Ray also loved antique cars and owned several throughout his lifetime. Most of all, Ray loved his family and will always be remembered as a devoted family man. Besides his wife, Loretta, Ray is also survived by two daughters, Arlene Hysert of Ontario and Diane Dobbin (Rob) of Quispamsis; daughter-in-law, Brenda Greenlaw of Quispamsis; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Melanie, Leanne, Ashley, Raymond, David and Danny; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Enid Greenlaw of Saint John; special niece, Marilyn Goulding of Ontario and several other nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by two sons, Blaine and Gary, son-in-law, Bob Hysert, two brothers, Donald and Douglas, sister-in-law, Rheta Reid and brother-in-law, Roy Reid.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119 with visitation on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 from Rothesay Baptist Church, 30 Vincent Road, Quispamsis, at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the service, at the church hall. Interment will take place in Oak Point Baptist Cemetery. Ray's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital for the exceptional care that Ray received throughout his illness. Also, a special thank you to the caring homemakers that provided Ray and his family with wonderful care and support.
