It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our love, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Vivian died on June 10, 2010 at her home in Ellershouse, N.S.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (MacInnis) Laidlaw.
She is survived by her best friend and love, David Steele; her sons, Jim (Alicia), Coxheath and Steven (Jennifer), Dartmouth; her sister, Lillian (Bill) Jesty, Ontario; her brothers, Jim, Sydney Mines and Ernie (Anna), Dartmouth. Vivian was a loving and proud grandmother to her five grandchildren and a much loved aunt to her nephews and niece.
She was predeceased by her infant son and her sister-in-law Sheila Laidlaw.
Vivian loved to dance, sing and, gifted with a great sense of humour, could, at times, find humour, even in her serious illnesses.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lohnes-Demont Funeral Home, Windsor, N.S. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Sydney Mines with Father J.J. MacDonald officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery under the care of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
