FITZGERALD, Kenneth "Ken" R

The passing of Kenneth "Ken" Reginald Fitzgerald of Fredericton occurred at the Veteran's Health Unit, Fredericton on, June 11, 2010. He was 87.
Born November 14, 1922 in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Aubrey Louis and Agnes Annabel (Tower) Fitzgerald. Ken was a founding member of the Grace Memorial United Baptist Church. He was a House Painter-Interior Decorator by trade. He was a member of The Fredericton Society of Artists. One of his magnificent displays of artistic talent and gift for sculpturing is located in the Vestry of Grace Memorial United Baptist Church which was dedicated in memory of his beloved grandson David Fitzgerald. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Postal Corps in India and England.

Ken is survived by four sons, Ronald of Nova Scotia, Donald of Ontario, Reginald (Linda) of Calgary and James (Cynthia) of Fredericton; two daughters, Patricia Duchaine of Port Coquitlam, BC and Alice Fitzgerald of Wickham; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Greg (Florence) of River Philip, NS and Elmer of Springhill, NS; two sisters Alice Thomas of Mass., USA and Janice Clingerman (Donald) of Tennessee, USA; nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents; wife Clara B. (Archibald) Fitzgerald; daughter Janice Fitzgerald; grandson David Fitzgerald; brothers Norman and Donald and a sister Edith Burke.
Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, on Monday June 14, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

The funeral service will be held from Grace Memorial United Baptist Church on Tuesday June 15, 2010 at 2 PM with Rev. Bob Malcolm officiating. A reception to follow.
Interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 3:00 PM.
