Gloria Savoie, 81, of Moncton, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010. Born on November 27, 1928 in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mabel Mary (Melanson) Arsenault. Gloria was a past volunteer with the East End Boys and Girls Club. She was a member of the Ladies Bowling League and an avid bingo player. She donated her time over the years providing for the less fortunate children in the Moncton area. She could always be counted on to provide a winter coat or Christmas gifts for those who needed them. She is survived by three children: Linda Soulliere (Terry) of Moncton, Bonnie Savoie of Toronto and Robert (Donna) of Riverview; two sisters: Judith (Lloyd Davey) and Rosanna (Douglas Reid); one brother, Omer Collette (Maxime); four grandchildren: Jason, Todd, James "Jamie" and Amanda and one great-grandson: Nicholas. She was predeceased by her husband, James Savoie, her step-father, Albert Collette as well as her sisters and brothers: Lawrence, Constance, Mildred and Margaret "Goody".
The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's R.C. Church (Botsford St., Moncton) on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Father Allison Carroll officiating.
