THORBURN - Aileen Agnes MacGregor, age 84 of MacDonald Road, Thorburn, passed away June 15, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Walter Thomas and Eileen Frances (Rolfe) Flynn.
She had been a resident of Thorburn all of her married life. Aileen received the most joy from time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a big supporter of the Pictou County Relay For Life and was very proud of her family for their involvement .
She is survived by her children: Patricia (Bob) Marshall, Thorburn; David (Freda) MacGregor, Thorburn; Irene (Trevor) Cameron, New Glasgow; Marilyn (Everette) DeCoste, Thorburn; Doug MacGregor, Stellarton; Ellen (Melvin) Gilliam, Stellarton; Lorraine (Mark) Weatherbie, Thorburn; Kenneth "Kenny" (Theresa) MacGregor, Thorburn; Tracy Fleet, Thorburn (Mike O'Sullivan); special son-in-law, Ian Fleet, Trenton; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, numerous foster children, her faithful companion, Sylvester the cat, two half-sisters and five half-brothers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; two infant sons, Donald Eric, and Murray Ross; great-grandson, Hayden Michael Mombourquette.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Thorburn Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Union Presbyterian Church Hall, Thorburn.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
