In loving memory of Mildred Floretta "Toni" Grant of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late John Earl Grant, who passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born on October 27, 1921 in Red Bank, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Alice (Banks) Wells. She frequently attended Devon Park Baptist Church. For 33 years, Mildred worked as a supervisor at the former Lord Beaverbrook Hotel. She was a Ladies Auxiliary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. Mildred is survived by her children, Edward (Sandra) Grant and Linda (Ron) Stafford both of Fredericton, NB and Rolene Barrett of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Janice-Marie Penney, Jacqueline Rudolph, Haley Bettle, Kelly Grant, Vicki Lynn Mullin, John Grant and Stephanie Joiner; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Hare and Verna Hanley both of Newcastle, NB; brother, Edward Wells of Fredericton, NB; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mildred was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth; sisters, Lennie Edwards and Margaret Hubbert; one son-in-law, David Barrett and some very special sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Muscular Dystrophy or the charity of the donor's choice.
