Lenora "Pearl" (Vokey) Gallant of Glace Bay passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 17,2010 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 7, 1946 in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Noreen Vokey of Glace Bay.
She is survived by her loving children, Tanya (Ray) Dawe, Shaun (Shannon) Gallant, Mark (Robyn) Gallant, 3 grandchildren; Olivia, Emma, Zachary, and by brothers; John (Penny), Jerry (Alice), Robert (Emmaline)Trevor and sisters; Sherrill (Fred) Hill , Janice (Nelson) Vokey-Santos, Marlene (Steven) Shepherd.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon and brother, Reginald.
Pearl was a registered nurse in the paediatric ward , Glace Bay General Hospital for 18 years and was later the owner/operator of Silk Petals, Glace Bay. She was a life long active member of Warden United Church.
Pearl will be sadly missed by both family members and friends.
Visitation for Pearl will take place at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street on Saturday, June 19,2010 from 1-4 pm with service to follow in Patten Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to the an Cala Palliative Care Unit at CBRH.
