1928 - 2010 - Laurie Melanson, 81, of Greater Lakeburn, NB, passed away on Sunday, June 20th 2010, at his residence. Born in Scoudouc, NB, he was the son of the late Zoel and the late Eveline (née: Melanson) Melanson. Prior to retirement, Mr. Melanson had been employed as a Boilermaker for Premier Refractories and AP Green. He was a member of the Bricklayer Union and had previously held the post of Secretary. He is survived by his wife, Muriel (née: Bastarache); four daughters: Pauline Melanson and Phyllis Brun (J.T. Hamilton), both of Greater Lakeburn, Louise (Paul) Bourgeois and Norma Melanson (Joey), both of Moncton; four step-daughters: Maria Melanson of Moncton, Denise (Mathieu) LeBlanc of Shediac, Bernice (Randy) Flanagan of Targettville and Louise Melanson of Riverview; one son, Normand (Tracey) Melanson of Moncton; three step-sons: Roger "Chico" (Lillian) Cormier, Robert Cormier and Paul Melanson Jr., all three of Moncton; 10 grandchildren as well as nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Florence and also by one granddaughter, Phyllis.
By request, no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, on Wednesday, June 23rd 2010, at 11 am. Interment in St.-Jacques-Le-Majeur Cemetery, Scoudouc, NB.
